Since 2000, approximately €76,728,846,860 (1) have been stolen from the Spanish people through corruption schemes which involved both businessmen and politicians.
Four well-known personalities who are currently being tried for alleged corruption are portrayed, their image is accompanied by their voice in statements in which they deny the charges of which they are being accused. The sound of these alleged lies is transformed into movement and therefor distorts the image of the portrayed creating this way a XXI century digital psychological portrait of corruption, in which the sound deforms their faces, their identity, to create glitched versions of who they are.
This is a project developed by the Yarza twins Eva & Marta Yarza that aims to explore new ways of protest art by the use of new technologies. The faces have been made by Paco Martínez (Pitaya Creatives).
